As the bread and butter of traditional manufacturing, mills and lathes bring a history of fabrication expertise and technique. Whether creating molds, metal components, or art, CNCs can accomplish the tightest of tolerances with ease.
THE missionS
Inspired by an 8 year old’s imaginative drawing, this two-piece plastic toy was fabricated using post-consumer recycled pellets. Given shape with aluminum milled molds, the Cat Donut was injection molded in a single shot. This inedible confectionary cat was designed with mold and injection optimization at the forefront.
Airtight cosmetics packaging made to be upcycled. With a secondary use as a planter and water globe, this container nurtures the natural beauty of plants. Made from all recyclable materials, the delicate heft of the package inspires refined simplicity.
With a myriad of reasons to not do the at-home exercise routine inherent to long-term physical therapy, a one-size fits all approach would fail. Through weeks of research and dozens of interviews with patients and therapists, three common issue groups rose to the top. To increase compliance with both quality and frequency of physical therapy, my team sought out a hybrid design using biomechanical data, real-time feedback, and positive prompting.
